It’s no surprise that we’ve had a scorching summer in Texas. We’ve seen temperatures in the 100-degree range, excessive heat warnings, and hardly any rain to help with the hot, beating sun we see everyday.
Lucky for you, we’ve compiled a list of the best Williamson County hotspots for you to take the family and beat the heat!
Liberty Hill
Liberty Hill Swim Center opened just in time for our hot Texas Summer! Located inside City Park, Liberty Hill Swim Center offers a pool, splash zone, two swim lanes, and multiple shade areas. Hours are Tuesday-Saturday from 10am-7pm and Sunday from 1pm-6pm.
Leander
Robin Bledsoe Park is a 16-acre park with lots to do! It includes a junior Olympic-size pool with a diving board and a splash pad and other activities like a lighted outdoor basketball court, a walking trail, and a playscape for the kids! The pool is open Tuesday-Thursday from 12pm-6pm and Friday-Sunday from 12pm-7pm and the splash pad is open from 8am-8pm. Park hours are 6am-10pm.
Quarry Splash Pad is a favorite among Leander and Cedar Park residents! Located in Southwest Williamson County Regional Park, Quarry Splash Pad features a huge splash pad area and lots of green space for picnics and relaxing. The park offers many other recreational activities, including soccer and softball fields, tennis and basketball courts, and a hike and bike trail! Splash pad hours are Wednesday-Sunday from 10am-6pm.
Cedar Park
Veterans Memorial Pool is an 8,500 square foot facility with slides, a water playground, cargo net log crossing, a diving/jumping platform, water basketball, and more! Hours are Monday-Saturday from 12pm-7pm and Sunday from 12pm-6pm.
Georgetown
If you have older children looking for a more adventurous way to cool off, check out Blue Hole Park! Located along the South Fork of the San Gabriel River, Blue Hole Park is bordered by limestone bluffs with wading areas and a beautiful waterfall. Hours are 5am-10pm.
Round Rock
Rock ‘N River Water Park offers no shortage of activities with many rental areas for the family to relax. Located inside Old Settlers Park, the park includes 51 play features, multiple slides, a lazy river, and a water playground. Hours are 12-7pm every day except Wednesday (unless otherwise noted).
Kalahari Resorts and Conventions is a great choice for indoor and outdoor fun. Featuring a newly expanded outdoor waterpark with a 900-feet Adventure River, a water play area with 9 slides for the kids, and an adults-only swim-up and walk-up bar, plus multiple slides and water features, a wave pool, and a play area for the kids indoors, there’s something for everyone! Indoor summer park hours for the summer are 10am-9pm. Outdoor summer park hours are 10am-7pm.
